A friend is the hope of the heart

Hi! We are Ghadir and Sofia, First of all, we both consider that meeting new people is always a good idea because it may help expand your circle of friends. Perhaps a new friend could become someone very special to you, it makes you leave your comfort zone, and it helps you become a more outgoing person, etc.

The main objective of this blog is to show people how important socializing is  in our lives.  In addition, it will create awareness about what's the difference between true and fake friends. We would like to share experiences we had about making new friends in different situations. Finally, we hope that the power of social media will help people reflect about their perceptions of friendship.

Hi! my name is Sofia, I´m so happy that I can tell you my story. I was born in Portugal-Lisbon, Cascais. My first studies were in Saint Johns School, a British school. I made a lot of friends in there. Currently, I´m not in contact with them. In 2008, my family moved to Madrid-Spain, Over there,  I learnt about the Spanish culture. It was an incredible experience, I met a lot of people that are now special to me. Finally I moved to Peru in 2010. Moving to Peru, was not new for me, because I had visited before. And also I had moved to different states and countries before. In addition, my mother is peruvian! Therefore, I was already used to the culture and the Spanish language.  On my first day of school, I remember being so nervous because I spoke with an spaniard’s accent and I didn't know anyone at the “Santisimo Nombre de Jesus” school. Hi! It’s Ghadir, and I would like to share my experience about making new friends. In 2019 I had the opportunity to travel to the United States and Bahamas for my 15th birthday with one of my best friends Paula Vega; I remember we were so excited. The days passed and we boarded the cruise, on the first day we found out that there going to be a party for people under 17, and we decided to go. When we arrived, we were nervous because we didn’t know anybody, until we saw two Mexican girls at a table and we talked to them. It was an incredible decision because we had formed a group! After this, another group of people came and asked us if we talk Spanish. We told them of course, yes! And we stayed together all night. We had a lot of fun! By the way, there were 3 Peruvians, 1 Argentinian, 4 Mexicans, and 2 Chileans. Although, we had just met we became very close. And, we decided to get together one more time before we had to say goodbye. It was so sad because we had become very fond of...

In conclusion, this assignment helped us realize that our friendship is worth more than any adversity that comes our way. Therefore, we will always be there to support each other and to applaud our achievements. We are finishing high school this year, but our friendship will be there forever and ever ! 😄
